Went to the Whiskey Bay exit boat ramp of I-10. Boat ramp looks nice. There's area to fish in the swamp and on the Whiskey Bay Pilot Channel. Pilot channel has a lot of current and snags and someone dropped a number 2 right in the middle of the little parking lot. I won't go back again. Now, the boat ramp side on the swamp was pretty clean for a public boat ramp. There's places to fish from the bank on either side of the ramp, under the interstate. There is tons of parking for trucks and trailers too. There's also a sign in station if you're using this to access Sherburne WMA. I'd come back to this side again.

Not being from the area, I expected more. The "wildlife refuge" has a hunting club and trailer communities. Not exactly majestic.

They have everything pistol rifle and shotgun ranges just bring your own targets and safety gear although they do provide ear plugs and it's free so you can't be that while you're there fish off the river or go camping or hiking it's very pretty there

Nothing to see here folks. The boat launch was poorly engineered. We didn’t see any wildlife. My trip was a huge waste of time. Y’all don’t bother coming out to this place.

We always see lots of animals when we come out here. This time was no different, turtles, lizards, alligators, etc!
